Domain name is known as the sequence of symbols that is input by users in the address bar of any browser to access your website. However it is not a real address of your website in the Internet. Domains are bound to Domain Name System (DNS) servers, that are used to translate digital addresses (known as IP addresses) into words. Every website that you visit has domain name and numeric IP address that is known to be a real address of your website on the Internet.

Usually domain names are classified by their extensions, that are known to be the indentity codes of domain names. Three most popular domains of the high level are not associated with any countries.

.COM - the abbreviation from .commercial. Domain names of this group are far more poopular than any other and can be bought by any individual or company.

.NET - the abbreviation from .network. At first such domains were used for technical websites. However they are nowadays used by anyone who desires it

.ORG - the abbreviation from .organization. At first such domains were intended for non-profit organizations or other organizations that are not using .com or .net extension. Currently it may also be registered by any individual or company.
