Access limitation by referrer is another mean of your content protection via means of CDN. Let us learn more what it hides behind and how it works on practice.
The access limitation by referrer means that when the query comes from browser, it is modified in a certain way to include the preferences for referrers. With the help of such policy you will be able to limit access to your content and grant it only to domains (websites) you need to have such access. This allows to stop unauthorized websites from getting your content and as a result from automatic illegal copying and so on. As soon as you modify your CDN settings accordingly, the websites that are not listed in those preferences won’t be able to get access to the cached content on CDN servers. Error 403 will be returned instead.
